In October 2014, Conde Nast Traveler announced that Charleston had won its Readers' Choice Top U.S. City Award for the fourth year in a row. That same month, this sweet Southern belle also nabbed the Top City in the World Award.
The rankings changed slightly in 2015 when the publication divvied up eligible cities by size. We were not mad that Charleston made the "small city" list,
for that's how we still like to think of her, nor were we surprised that she took the number one spot again in her new category. While Charleston may be considered small, downtown Charleston homes for sale certainly are not.

About Downtown Charleston Real Estate
Downtown Charleston real estate is unlike any other in the Southern states. Fabulous homes situated right in the heart of downtown consist of historic architecture with completely modernized interiors.
Many of the properties are not only used as residences, but are also used as commercial properties. French doors, brick-walled courtyards and copious amounts of fireplaces enhance the elegance and uniqueness of these homes,
making them a home buyer's dream.
Downtown Charleston & The Peninsula Highlights
Clearly, downtown Charleston is abundant with so many of the things that make life rich and interesting. It's a fantastic treat for travelers, but for those who make it their home, it is an everyday delight.
Residences, from single-family homes to condominiums, are not set alongside the city; they are a part of it. And with all the accolades awarded to this amazing city – for everything from friendliness to foodiness - it stands
to reason that the biggest concern of its residents is accommodating eager visitors.
Hugged by the Ashley and Cooper Rivers, the historic Charleston peninsula is just a couple of meters above sea level. And still, she keeps coming out on top.
